Description
Fixodine 50 is a conditioning rinse additive formulated with a complexing agent to compensate for water hardness. It is used to activate steel and zinc coated steel prior to zinc phosphating. It eliminates the coarse, crystalline coatings sometimes obtained on zinc surfaces, and on steel surfaces, which have been pickled with acid or cleaned with strong alkali. It promotes the formation of a dense, finely crystalline phosphate coating which is the preferred base for paint and which has superior corrosion resistance.

Description
Kem Activator 1 is a blend of titanated compounds manufactured by a unique,specially developed process. It activates steel surfaces and accelerates the formation of a light, fine-grained, microcrystalline zinc phosphate coating.
The use of Kem Activator 1 either incorporated in the degreasing bath or when used in a rinse stage prior to zinc phosphating will yield the following improved performance:
Produces a compact, microcrystalline coating with higher crystal density and lower coating weight. Process time for the formation of a complete coating is reduced dramatically.
Application
Zinc phosphating can be performed at substantially lower, even ambient, temperatures. Improved paint adhesion and superior corrosion resistance properties.
