KEM PASSIVATE 2
Description
Kem Passivate 2 is a specially formulated rinse based on Chromic acid. Underfilm performance of a painted metallic surface is markedly improved when a phosphate treatment is followed by a rinse containing Kem Passivate 2.
Application
Kem Passivate 2 is recommended as the final stage in the metal pretreatment system. The rinse can be used in conjunction with Chembond's Kem Kote Phosphating processes. Kem Passivate 2 counteracts the effect of hard water, salts and acidifies the surface before painting. It thus reduces the paint blistering under humid conditions and increases paint adhesion. Kem Passivate 2 reduces staining which may occur due to drying after derusting.
